Getax Australia Pty Ltd (an Australian Company, a third largest supplier of rock phosphate to reputed fertilizer plants in India) has signed a JV agreement on 16th August at Guiyang with Chinese State owned fertilizer plant ‘Guizhou Tianfeng Chemical Company Limited’ (GTCC) to jointly own and operate the fertilizer plant in Guizhou province in southwest China. GTCC is the 3rd largest fertilizer company in Guizhou.
GTCC will contribute the Plant which manufacturers approximately 100,000 tonnes of MAP (Mono ammonium Phosphate), 100,000 tonnes of NPK fertilizers and 140,000 tonnes of Sulphuric Acid for a 52% equity in the new JV. The Fertilizer Plant has been valued at RMB 60 million. GETAX will acquire upto 32% in the JV, with minimum of 16%. GETAX will bring in its in-house expertise of the International market and giving a global resource base and market. GETAX team will work towards reduction of input costs and increase in the output of the finished goods for better financial results. Founder and Chairman Mr. G.S. Gupta of GETAX states ‘The Chinese Plant acquisition was a very strategic move for forward integration for GETAX and we are looking at similar opportunities at other countries’. Other ventures include the potential acquisition of further phosphate resources.
The new JV is estimated to turn over approximately minimum RMB 240 million and will be exempt from corporate income tax in China for two years and then 50% exempt for another three years.
